OLD FASHIONED MEATLOAF

A classic and comforting dish made with ground meat, breadcrumbs, eggs, and seasonings and baked to perfection in the shape of a loaf. Here’s a delicious and traditional Old-Fashioned Meatloaf recipe:

Ingredients
1 1/4 C. old fashioned rolled oats
1/4 cup milk
1 lb. ground beef
2 large eggs, beaten
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 clove garlic, minced
1 T. worcestershire sauce
3 T. ketchup
1/2 tsp. pepper
Topping
1/4 C. ketchup
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. yellow mustard

Directions

Add the milk to the oats in a big bowl. Let the oats sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the milk after stirring to coat. Add the eggs, onion soup mix, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and pepper along with the ground beef. Mix everything together by hand, incorporating the oats into the meat.
Once everything is combined, put it in a 9 x 9 baking pan and shape it into a loaf that is about 1 & 3/4″ thick. Place for 30 minutes in a 375° oven. While waiting, prepare the topping by combining the ingredients in a bowl. After baking for 30 minutes, remove from oven and coat sides and top with topping. Place in the oven once more for 10 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes before slicing.
