Ooey Gooey Bars, also referred to as Seven Layer Bars or Magic Bars, are a delectable and decadent treat that layer sweet ingredients to create a single mouthwatering square. These bars will satisfy any sweet tooth because they are rich, gooey, and packed with flavors and textures. Here is a recipe to make these mouthwatering Ooey Gooey Bars:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Instructions:

  1. Turn on the oven to 350 °F (175 °C). A 9×13-inch baking dish should be greased or lined with parchment paper.
  2. The graham cracker crumbs and melted butter should be thoroughly combined in a medium bowl. To create the crust, press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the baking dish that has been prepared.
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut flakes, and chopped nuts evenly over the graham cracker crust.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top, making sure to cover all the ingredients.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  6. Remove the baking dish from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack. This will allow the bars to set and become easier to slice.
  7. Once cooled, carefully lift the bars out of the baking dish using the parchment paper (if using) and transfer them to a cutting board.
  8. Cut into squares or rectangles of your desired size.
  9. Serve and savor these ooey, delicious bars! For several days, they can be kept at room temperature in an airtight container.
