Ingredients:

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Leave some overhang on the sides to easily lift the fudge out later.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter.
  3. Microwave the mixture on high for 1 minute. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the ingredients together.
  4. Heat the bowl once more in the microwave for 30 more seconds. Again, stir. Continue doing this until the butter and chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Be careful not to overheat the mixture, as chocolate can burn easily in the microwave. If needed, reduce the microwave power to 50% to prevent overheating.
  6. Once the chocolate mixture is smooth, stir in the vanilla extract and chopped nuts (if using) until well combined.
  7. Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly and smooth the top.
  8. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours, or until it’s firm and set.
  9. Once the fudge is completely set, lift it out of the pan using the overhanging parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  10. Cut the fudge into small squares or rectangles, and it’s ready to be served!

Paula Deen’s 5-Minute Fudge is ideal for any occasion, including a holiday gathering, a potluck, or a simple dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth. Any leftovers should be refrigerated in an airtight container. This quick and easy fudge recipe is full of creamy, chocolaty goodness!
