Ingredients:

For the Pie Crust:

  • 1 pre-made or homemade 9-inch pie crust, unbaked

For the Filling:

  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare the Pie Crust:

  • Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish, crimp the edges, and set it aside.

3. Toast the Pecans (Optional):

  • To enhance the flavor of the pecans, you can toast them in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to over-toast them; they should just be lightly browned. Remove and let them cool.

4. Prepare the Filling:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, heavy cream, whole milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

5. Add Pecans:

  • Stir in the chopped pecans until they are evenly distributed in the filling mixture.

6. Fill the Pie Crust:

  • Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust.

7. Bake:

  • Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and a toothpick or knife inserted into the center comes out clean. The pie should have a slight jiggle when gently shaken.

8. Cool:

  • Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack. The pie will continue to set as it cools.

9. Chill (Optional):

  • For a creamier texture, you can refrigerate the pie for a few hours or overnight before serving.

10. Serve:

  • Slice your delicious Pecan Cream Pie and serve it at room temperature or chilled, as per your preference.

11. Enjoy:

  • Enjoy the rich, creamy, and nutty flavors of your homemade Pecan Cream Pie.
