Indulge in these deliciously crispy Apple Cinnamon Curly Fries! Perfect for a sweet snack or dessert, these curly fries are packed with the warm flavors of cinnamon and apples, making them a delightful treat.

📋 Ingredients:

  • 🍏 3 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • 🌾 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 🍬 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 🌿 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 🧂 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 🥛 1 cup buttermilk
  • 🌿 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 🥚 1 large egg
  • 🌿 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 🌿 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 🥛 Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 🍬 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 🌿 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Optional Glaze:

  • 🍬 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 🥛 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • 🌿 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

📝 Directions:

  1. Prepare the Apples:
  • Peel the apples and remove the cores. Using a spiralizer, cut the apples into curly fries. If you don’t have a spiralizer, you can cut the apples into thin, fry-like strips.
  1. Make the Batter:
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vanilla extract, egg, baking soda, and baking powder.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  1. Heat the Oil:
  • In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  1. Fry the Apple Curly Fries:
  • Dip the apple curly fries into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
  • Carefully place the battered apple fries into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove the fries from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  1. Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:
  • In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating.
  • While the fries are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
  1. Optional Glaze:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm apple fries.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve the crispy apple cinnamon curly fries warm and enjoy!

💡 Notes:

  • For a healthier version, you can bake the apple curly fries at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes or until crispy, instead of frying them.
  • You can experiment with different types of apples for varied flavors and textures.
  • These apple fries are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to a day. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness.
