This Cherry Dr Pepper Cake is a moist and flavorful dessert that combines the unique taste of Dr Pepper with cherries. It’s topped with a delicious cherry glaze, making it a perfect treat for any occasion.

πŸ“‹ Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • πŸ₯€ 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 🍰 1 cup Dr Pepper
  • πŸ₯› 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • πŸ₯š 3 large eggs
  • πŸ’ 1 jar (10 oz) maraschino cherries, drained and chopped (reserve the juice)
  • πŸ₯„ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cherry Glaze:

  • πŸ’ 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • πŸ’ 3-4 tablespoons reserved maraschino cherry juice

πŸ“ Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour a 9Γ—13-inch baking dish.
  1. Prepare the Cake Batter:
  • In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, Dr Pepper, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes until well combined.
  • Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and vanilla extract.
  1. Bake the Cake:
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan.
  1. Prepare the Cherry Glaze:
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and reserved maraschino cherry juice until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more cherry juice if needed.
  1. Glaze the Cake:
  • Once the cake has cooled, pour the cherry glaze over the top, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  1. Serve:
  • Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before slicing and serving your delicious Cherry Dr Pepper Cake.
