This Hashbrown Chicken Casserole is a comforting and satisfying dish that’s perfect for family dinners. It combines tender chicken, crispy hashbrowns, and a creamy, cheesy sauce for a dish that’s sure to become a favorite.

  • πŸ— 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • πŸ₯” 1 package (32 oz) frozen shredded hashbrowns, thawed

  • πŸ§„ 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • πŸ₯› 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • πŸ₯› 1 cup sour cream
  • πŸ§€ 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • πŸ₯› 1/2 cup milk
  • πŸ§‚ 1 teaspoon salt
  • 🌿 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 🌿 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 🌿 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 🧈 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 🌿 1 cup crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
  • 🌿 Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Prepare the Casserole:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9Γ—13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix Ingredients:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded hashbrowns, cooked chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until everything is well combined.
  3. Transfer to Baking Dish:
    Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Add the Topping:

  1. Add Cheese:
    Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
  2. Add Crushed Topping (Optional):
    If desired, mix the melted butter with the crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the cheese.

Bake the Casserole:

  1. Bake:
    Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  2. Cool Slightly:
