September 2, 2024 by BMA24

Maid-Rite Sliders are a fun and easy take on the classic loose meat sandwich that originated in the Midwest. These sliders are made with seasoned ground beef served on soft buns, making them perfect for parties, family dinners, or game day snacks.

๐Ÿ“‹ Ingredients:

  • ๐Ÿฅฉ 1 lb ground beef (85% lean is ideal)
  • ๐Ÿง‚ 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • ๐Ÿฅฃ 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ๐Ÿฏ 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • ๐Ÿฅ„ 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ๐Ÿง‚ 1/2 tsp salt
  • ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • ๐Ÿถ 1/4 cup beef broth (optional, for extra flavor and moisture)
  • ๐Ÿž 12 slider buns or dinner rolls
  • ๐Ÿง€ Optional: Slices of American or cheddar cheese
  • ๐Ÿฅ’ Optional: Pickles, for topping
  • ๐Ÿง… Optional: Additional chopped onions, for topping

๐Ÿ“ Directions:

1. Cook the Ground Beef:

  • ๐Ÿณ Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it starts to brown, breaking it up into small crumbles as it cooks.
  • ๐Ÿง… Add the Onion: Stir in the finely chopped onion and continue to cook until the onion is soft and the beef is fully browned.

2. Season the Beef:

  • ๐Ÿง‚ Add Seasonings: Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. If you prefer a moister filling, you can add the beef broth at this stage.
  • ๐Ÿฒ Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld together.

3. Prepare the Slider Buns:

  • ๐Ÿž Toast the Buns: While the meat mixture is simmering, you can toast the slider buns lightly in the oven or on a griddle for added texture.

4. Assemble the Sliders:

  • ๐Ÿ” Build the Sliders: Spoon the seasoned loose meat mixture onto the bottom halves of the slider buns. If using, place a slice of cheese over the meat, allowing it to melt slightly. Add pickles, additional chopped onions, or other toppings if desired.
  • ๐Ÿž Top and Serve: Place the top halves of the buns over the filling, pressing down gently.

5. Serve:

  • ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Serve: Serve the Maid-Rite sliders hot, with your favorite sides like fries, coleslaw, or potato salad.
