These Maple Cookies with Maple Icing are soft, chewy, and bursting with rich maple flavor. Topped with a sweet and smooth maple icing, they’re the perfect treat for fall or any time you’re craving something sweet and cozy.

πŸ“‹ Ingredients:

For the Maple Cookies:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar 🍬
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed 🍬
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup 🍁
  • 1 large egg πŸ₯š
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 🌿
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 🌾
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 🌾
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt πŸ§‚

For the Maple Icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar 🍬
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 🧈
  • 2-3 tablespoons pure maple syrup 🍁
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 🌿
  • A pinch of salt πŸ§‚

πŸ“ Instructions:

1. Make the Maple Cookies:

  1. Preheat the oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  1. Cream the butter and sugars:
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  1. Add wet ingredients:
  • Beat in the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and combined.
  1. Combine dry ingredients:
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  1. Form the cookies:
  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers should still be soft. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

2. Make the Maple Icing:

  1. Mix the icing:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth. If the icing is too thick, add a little more maple syrup or a splash of milk to reach the desired consistency.

3. Ice the Cookies:

  1. Ice the cookies:
  • Once the cookies have cooled completely, spread or drizzle the maple icing over the top of each cookie. Let the icing set for about 10 minutes.
  1. Serve:
  • Enjoy these delicious maple cookies with a cup of coffee, tea, or as a sweet snack.
