It all started with a simple box. A group of rescuers stumbled upon what seemed to be an old, discarded box and jokingly wondered what they might find inside. Little did they know, their joke would turn into a heartbreaking reality. Inside the box was a small dog, desperately taking shelter from the rain and harsh elements.
He was in rough shape, underweight, and suffering from various skin issues. The little dog, later named Alejandro, seemed shocked to see people there to help him. Despite his poor condition, the rescuers carefully and gently removed him from the box, bundled him in blankets, and gave him food, which he devoured hungrily.
Alejandro was immediately taken to a shelter, where he was vaccinated and medicated. From there, he was transferred to Valley Animal Center for further care. During his first days, Alejandro was timid and scared, but after receiving treatment for his skin issues, his personality began to shine. His tail started wagging, and he showed the first signs of trust and playfulness. He was no longer the frightened dog they found hiding in a box.
Alejandro’s spunky and fun nature quickly won the hearts of everyone at the shelter. Thanks to the kindness of The Dodo, Alejandro received a custom doghouse of his own, a safe space where he could feel secure and comfortable. At first, he was unsure of the gift, but soon enough, Alejandro realized the doghouse was his very own little haven.
As he settled into his new house, it was clear that Alejandro had found comfort and joy. Now, with a bright future ahead, all Alejandro needs is a loving home where he can continue to thrive and share his infectious energy.
