  • Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Let the lamb shanks simmer gently for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone. Alternatively, you can cook the lamb in a 325Β°F (160Β°C) oven for the same amount of time.

  • If you prefer a thicker gravy, whisk the flour into 1/4 cup of cold water and stir it into the sauce during the last 20-30 minutes of cooking.
