🥮 Mom’s Famous Cream Puffs ✨

These Cream Puffs are a classic family-favorite dessert with a light and airy shell filled with luscious, creamy filling.


🛒 Ingredients:

For the Pastry Shells (Pâte à Choux):

  • 🥛 1 cup water
  • 🧈 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 🧂 1/4 tsp salt
  • 🍞 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 🥚 4 large eggs

For the Cream Filling:

  • 🥄 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 🍬 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 🥄 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Optional Topping:

  • 🍫 Powdered sugar for dusting or melted chocolate for drizzling

🔥 Instructions:

Prepare the Pastry Shells:

1️⃣ Preheat & Prep:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

2️⃣ Cook the Dough:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

3️⃣ Add the Eggs:

  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for 5 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until smooth and glossy.

4️⃣ Pipe & Bake:

  • Transfer the dough to a piping bag or use a spoon to drop tablespoon-sized mounds onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Allow to cool completely before filling.

Make the Cream Filling:

5️⃣ Whip the Cream:

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Assemble the Cream Puffs:

6️⃣ Fill the Shells:

  • Slice the cooled pastry shells in half and pipe or spoon the whipped cream filling into the bottom half. Place the top half back on.

7️⃣ Add Toppings:

  • Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate for a decorative touch.
