Creamy Seafood Bisque – A Rich & Elegant Delight!

This velvety smooth bisque is packed with shrimp, crab, and a touch of white wine, making it the perfect seafood lover’s dish for a cozy meal or special occasion!

🛒 Ingredients

  • 🦐 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 🦀 1/2 lb lump crab meat
  • 🧅 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 🥕 1 small carrot, finely diced
  • 🍄 1/2 cup mushrooms, chopped (optional)
  • 🧄 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 🥄 2 tbsp butter
  • 🍷 1/4 cup white wine
  • 🥣 2 cups seafood broth (or chicken broth)
  • 🥄 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 🥄 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 🥛 1 cup heavy cream
  • 🥄 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 🌿 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 🍋 Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 🧂 Salt & black pepper, to taste

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Sauté the Aromatics:

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add onion, carrot, and mushrooms, cooking until softened (about 5 minutes).
  • Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.

2️⃣ Deglaze with Wine & Add Seasonings:

  • Pour in white wine, scraping up any browned bits.
  • Stir in Old Bay, paprika, and tomato paste.

3️⃣ Simmer the Bisque:

  • Add seafood broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes to develop flavor.

4️⃣ Add Seafood & Cream:

  • Stir in shrimp and crab, cooking for 5 minutes until shrimp turn pink.
  • Lower heat and slowly stir in heavy cream.

5️⃣ Finish & Serve:

  • Add lemon juice and adjust seasoning with salt & pepper.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm!
