Instant Pot Beef and Broccoli

🛒 Ingredients

  • 🥩 1.5 lbs flank steak, sliced thin
  • 🛢 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 🌿 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 🧄 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 🧅 ½ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 🍯 ¼ cup honey or brown sugar
  • 🥄 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • 🌿 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 🌶 ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 🥄 ½ cup beef broth
  • 🍚 Cooked rice, for serving

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Sauté the Beef

  • Turn the Instant Pot to “Sauté” mode and add vegetable oil.
  • Sear the sliced beef in batches until browned (about 2 minutes per side).
  • Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

2️⃣ Pressure Cook

  • Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, honey, and ginger. Stir to coat the beef.
  • Close the lid, set the valve to “Sealing”, and cook on High Pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Quick release the pressure when done.

3️⃣ Thicken the Sauce

  • Turn on “Sauté” mode. Stir in cornstarch slurry and let it thicken for 2 minutes.
  • Add broccoli florets, cover with a lid, and let them steam in the heat for 5 minutes.

4️⃣ Serve & Enjoy

  • Serve hot over steamed rice and garnish with sesame seeds or green onions!
