Ingredients
1 small head of cabbage, chopped
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
Salt & pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
Instructions
Preheat Oven – Set to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the Beef – In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onion & garlic. Drain excess fat.
Mix Ingredients – Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, rice, oregano, basil, salt & pepper. Stir well.
Layer It Up – In the baking dish, layer half the cabbage, then the meat mixture, then the remaining cabbage.
Bake – Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
Cheese It Up – Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake uncovered for 5-10 more minutes.
Serve & Enjoy – Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm!
