Ribeye Steak

The marbling and rich flavor of ribeye steak, a tender and flavorful cut of beef, are highly regarded. Here is a quick recipe for a tasty ribeye steak:

Ingredients:

  • Ribeye steak(s), about 1-1.5 inches thick
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Optional: garlic cloves, fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme)

Directions :

  1. Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps to ensure even cooking.
  2. Preheat your grill or a skillet over high heat. If using a skillet, make sure it is oven-safe if you plan to finish cooking the steak in the oven.
  3. While the grill or skillet is heating up, season the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides. You can also add other seasonings of your choice, such as garlic powder or steak seasoning.
  4. If desired, rub the steak with a bit of olive oil or butter. This helps to enhance the flavor and prevent sticking.
  5. Put the seasoned ribeye steak directly on the heated grill grates if using a grill. To cook the steak to your desired level of doneness, adjust the cooking time by about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.For a skillet: Pour some butter or olive oil into the already-heated skillet. The steak should be carefully placed in the skillet and seared for two to three minutes on each side, or until a nice crust forms.
  6. Optional: If using garlic cloves and fresh herbs, you can add them to the skillet or grill during the last minute or two of cooking. Baste the steak with the melted butter or oil infused with garlic and herbs.
  7. Once the steak is seared on both sides, you can finish cooking it in one of two ways:
    • Reducing the heat to medium or moving the steak to a cooler area of the grill are your options for a grill. Cook the steak for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until it is cooked to your preference.
    • In the case of a skillet: If your skillet is oven-safe, you can place it in an already-heated oven set to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Finish cooking for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the food is the desired doneness.
  8. Remove the ribeye steak from the heat source and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a more tender and juicy steak.
  9. Slice the ribeye steak against the grain into thick slices.
  10. Serve the deliciously cooked ribeye steak on a plate and enjoy it as is, or with your favorite sides like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Keep in mind that cooking times may vary depending on the steak’s thickness and desired degree of doneness. To accurately measure the internal temperature of the steak, use a meat thermometer. Take pleasure in your succulent ribeye steak!
