Philly Cheesesteak Casserole Recipe: A Hearty and Flavorful Dish

This Philly cheesesteak casserole combines sautéed beef, bell peppers, onions, and melted cheese into a delicious and simple dish. Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  1. Cook the Beef and Vegetables:
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into crumbles with a spatula.
  • Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the diced onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Season with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
  1. Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, heavy cream, and Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth.
  1. Assemble the Casserole:
  • In a large baking dish, spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the beef and vegetables, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  1. Bake the Casserole:
  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  1. Serve:
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
