  • πŸ₯„ 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • πŸ₯š 2 large eggs
  • πŸ₯„ 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 🍞 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • πŸ§‚ 1/2 tsp salt
  • πŸ₯„ 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 🌰 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 🌟 1/2 cup golden raisins or dried currants

  • In a small bowl, combine the candied cherries, candied pineapple, and raisins with the rum or orange juice. Let soak for at least 1 hour (or overnight for extra flavor).

2️⃣ Prepare the Dough

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

3️⃣ Mix the Dry Ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  • Drain the soaked fruits (if needed) and fold them into the dough along with the chopped nuts.

5️⃣ Bake the Cookies

  1. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
