This easy, one-pan meal transforms affordable cube steak into fork-tender goodness, smothered in a savory onion and mushroom gravy. Perfect for weeknight dinners served over mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles!

For the Steak:

For the Gravy:

1️⃣ Season & Dredge the Steak:
Season cube steaks with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Coat both sides lightly in flour, shaking off excess.

2️⃣ Sear the Steak:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, then remove and set aside.

3️⃣ SautΓ© the Onions & Mushrooms:
In the same pan, melt butter and sautΓ© onions and mushrooms for 5 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

4️⃣ Make the Gravy:
Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Bring to a simmer.

5️⃣ Smother & Simmer:
Return the cube steaks to the pan, covering them with the gravy. Cover and simmer on low for 25-30 minutes until tender.

6️⃣ Serve & Enjoy!
Plate with mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles, spoon gravy over the top, and enjoy!
